A man in his 30s has died after falling off a speeding vehicle on the Kiranzi–Kyabasara road in Kiranzi Cell, Mabaale Town Council, Kagadi District.

The deceased has been identified as Sengonzi Tadeo, a resident of Kyenzige Town Council.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred on Saturday morning at around 9 a.m. when a vehicle, registration number UBJ 565J, failed to negotiate a corner, causing Sengonzi to fall off.

Byamukama Michael, one of the eyewitnesses, said the vehicle was heading to Kyabasara to load logs and that Sengonzi, who was riding at the back of the truck, was eating chapatti at the time of the incident. Runyoro Audio

Another resident, Tadeo Muhumuza, attributed the tragedy to Sengonzi’s failure to hold onto the moving vehicle, noting that he was among those helping to load logs.

Traffic officers from Kagadi Central Police Station visited the scene and later took the body to Kagadi General Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
