Kabale High Court has started hearing 38 civil cases against the Attorney General and the Commissioner of Land Registration. The special session that began on Thursday at Kabale court premises is presided over by Kabale High Court Judge, Justice Karoli Lwanga Ssemogerere.

Among the cases include: Mercy Atuhaire, the Kabale district senior procurement officer, against former Kabale district Chief Administrative Officer, John Asiimwe, Kabale district local government and attorney general over illegal interdiction, Evas Babigumira against Centenary bank and Kabale district land board, Joseph Tindyebwa against Uganda National Roads Authority and Grestone Construction Company, Cephas Birungi against Kabale Municipal Council, Kilwa Wolfram mines against Kisoro District land board and Alex Nambajimana incumbent Kisoro District Vice chairman, Simon Mashemererwa against Kabale municipal council and Wilberforce Korugyendo against Rubanda district local government among others.

Kenneth Tumwebaze, the Registrar of the Kabale High Court, says that the purpose of the special session that is scheduled to sit for two days is aimed at reduce case backlog and giving quick justice services to the litigants.
