The utilities court based at Makindye on Monday sent journalist Dean Lubowa Saava back to Luzira where he has been on remand for weeks.
He will be back to court on November 3rd which will be a Monday. The magistrate said she needed time to receive the state’s response to his bail application and be able to give her ruling whether to release him on bail or not.
The magistrate said she is going to be away on leave till that day of November 3rd.
She explained that Dean’s case can only be heard on Monday or Tuesday because those are the only days dedicated for UCC cases in her court.
His case is for UCC because they are the ones charhing him with the offence of broadcasting and operating the online TV without having a license from the government of Uganda.
Dean told court that he was ready to negotiate with UCC and resolve all the disagreements existing between them, but the magistrate said there was no time for all that to be concluded in one day.
