Police Probe Death of Student in Suspected Mob Attack at Kwania School

By KT Reporter
One of the female judges of Uganda working under the leadership code tribunal was recently conned of 5m by none other than Jeremiah Kamurari Birungi the former chairman for Isingiro district.
The judge is involved in a land wrangle in Wakiso district near Sentema. Children of the wealthy Muganda businessman for whom she was the family lawyer had filed a case at police accusing her of using forged signatures and fake powers of attorney to interfere with their late father’s estate of 200 acres.
The orphans filed a case at CPS which was forensically investigated leading to findings that the judge, when still a lawyer, had engaged in some fraudulent land transactions on this same land. Basing on the police report, the office of DPP sanctioned the file for prosecution of the judge and other accomplices.
Kamurari has rogue-minded officers he works with inside the DPP office. They be feeding him with all the info on the files involving such big people who have a name to protect. On this occasion he was given all the information and it was true. He used someone close to the LCT judge to reach her.
The judge was coerced to release Ugx5m so that Kamurari, who would speak to her using a phone line registered in the names of the ODPP big man whose voice he would mimick well in phone calls, uses his position to frustrate the prosecution process.
The money was sent on a mobile phone of MTN which is registered in the names of that same ODPP official.
Now investigators know that this was mere coincidence of names: Kamurari used to have a driver with similar names. It’s that driver who registered the number for him when Kamurari was even still the LC5 boss for Isingiro.
After receiving the 5m, Kamurari turned against the female Judge and didn’t even deliver. That’s how the female Judge caused his arrest and has actually been on remand in Luzira for several weeks.
His case is at Buganda road court where the prosecutor recently reported that he similarly also took 2m from the complainants who had first reported the forgery, fraud and estate-meddling case against the judge. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
