Hellen Seku, the Commissioner for Patriotism Secretariat in State House, has dedicated herself to serving the president and the people of Uganda by deepening patriotism across the country. She has committed herself to spreading the gospel of patriotism and wealth creation, smartly identifying, organizing, and empowering youth, students, and teachers across the country to appreciate patriotism as a national effort to ensure sustainable peace and development.
Seku found a weak Patriotism Secretariat and transformed it into a fully-fledged office that is now participating in national development efforts despite its meager resources. She has been able to organize patriotism training and mindset change sessions in different parts of Uganda, which has been pivotal in helping youth appreciate the vision of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni aimed at transforming Uganda from a purely peasantry-based economy to a self-sustaining industrial economy.
Under her leadership, the National Secretariat for Patriotism Clubs (NSPC) has trained over 190,000 Ugandans, with a focus on promoting patriotism, nationalism, and pan-Africanism. The NSPC has been involved in nationwide efforts and fully participated in the countrywide Presidential PDM Assessment tour. Seku has also brought all government agencies and leaders on board to address Ugandans on issues of patriotism for sustainable peace and development. The president has on many occasions commended seku for revamping the National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps (NSPC). She took over this office in January 2024 and by July 2025, she had registered huge achievements.
Despite her impressive achievements, Seku has faced intense opposition from enemies of President Museveni, including individuals within the National Unity Platform (NUP), State House, and some former employees of the Patriotism Secretariat. Her dedication and efforts haven’t gone unchallenged, and many who hate her see her as a rising star within the state structures and having the ear and heart of the president.
Seku’s leadership style is characterized by her ability to listen and keep her office open to all. She is incorruptible and doesn’t entertain mediocrity, which is why some people are ganging up against her. However, she remains committed to her work, leading by example and demonstrating unwavering dedication to promoting patriotism and national development.
As Uganda continues to grow and develop, Hellen Seku’s commitment to patriotism and national development will undoubtedly remain a shining example of dedication and leadership. Her achievements are a testament to the power of patriotism in driving national development, and her legacy will continue to inspire future generations of Ugandans.
One of the most significant challenges Seku faces is the opposition from within the government. It’s ironic that in a government that claims to be committed to patriotism and national development, there are individuals who are working to undermine her efforts. This opposition is a testament to the complexity of the issues facing Uganda and the need for leaders like Seku who are committed to making a difference.
Despite these challenges, Seku remains focused on her mission. She continues to work tirelessly to promote patriotism and national development, and her efforts are yielding positive results. The NSPC has become a beacon of hope for many Ugandans, and Seku’s leadership has been instrumental in this success.
In conclusion, Hellen Seku is a true leader and a shining example of dedication and commitment to patriotism and national development. Her achievements are a testament to the power of leadership and the impact that one person can have on a nation. As Uganda continues to grow and develop, Seku’s legacy will undoubtedly remain an inspiration to future generations of Ugandans. Her commitment to promoting patriotism and national development will continue to drive progress and prosperity in Uganda, and her leadership will remain a beacon of hope for many. With her at the helm, the NSPC will continue to play a vital role in shaping the future of Uganda, and her contributions will be felt for years to come.
