Development partners in West Nile have urged the government to partner with non-governmental organizations to invest in innovative solutions to address gender and climate challenges.
The partners note that this collaboration will make it easier for the parties to take advantage of the latest technologies to solve climate and gender challenges in the country.
Mercy Inzikuru, the Manager of Programs at Rural Initiative for Community Empowerment (RICE) West Nile, highlights that digital platforms now ease access to services through information sharing.
She cites the use of irrigation and other online platforms like websites and applications that provide information as areas that need to be taken advantage of to address climate challenges. The Executive Director of Community Empowerment for Transformation Action (CEFTRA), Godfrey Dricile, says collaboration between the government and partners will have an impact in addressing the challenges.
Similarly, the Project Officer at Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa, Jackie Bless, believes that interventions by partners supplement government programs to address the challenges.
The development partners propose to generate innovative solutions for gender equality and climate resilience in the region-URN. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
