Three people have been killed along the Hoima-Kyenjojo Road in Hoima City.
According to eyewitnesses, a Fuso lorry registration number UBN 463R, which was overspeeding, knocked a child, lost control and rammed into a tricycle, commonly known as a Tuk-tuk. The dead have been identified as Darius Baguma, 3 years old, Julius Tibenda, and the tricircle rider, only identified as Irumba.
Carolyne Kobusingye, an eyewitness, said that the child was moving with the mother and all of a sudden, was hit by the speeding lorry.
Christopher Okot, another resident of Kiryatete, has appealed to the city authorities and traffic police to intervene because many drivers drive recklessly in the city, yet there is a lot of congestion.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine regional police spokesperson, attributed the accident to reckless driving by the Fuso driver, who is on the run-URN. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
