Stakeholders in Uganda’s football fraternity have been invited to submit proposals and recommendations for amendments to the FUFA Competitions Rules, Edition 2026, as part of efforts to improve the regulation and management of football competitions in the country. The review process is intended to strengthen football governance by allowing clubs, players, coaches, referees, administrators, regional football associations, and other stakeholders to contribute to the development of regulations that guide competitions. The invitation was issued by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) through Circular No. 1217, which outlines the ongoing process to revise the rules before the adoption of a new edition.
FUFA Communications Director Ahmed Hussein said the review process reflects the federation’s commitment to inclusive governance and continuous improvement of football administration. “The competitions rules are a key pillar in the management of the game, and it is important that stakeholders participate in shaping them. Their views and recommendations will help us develop regulations that are responsive to the needs of football and the realities of the modern game,” Hussein said.
Hussein noted that the federation is seeking to ensure that the rules remain relevant, transparent, and effective in promoting fairness and professionalism across all competitions sanctioned by FUFA. He added that stakeholder engagement remains critical in strengthening football structures and aligning domestic regulations with best practices in football governance. The review forms part of FUFA’s broader efforts to modernize football administration and enhance standards at all levels of the game. The federation says all submissions received will be considered during the revision process before a final version of the Competition Rules is adopted.Stakeholders have been asked to submit their proposals, observations, and recommendations in writing to the FUFA Secretariat through rules@fufa.co.ug by June 26, 2026-URN.
