At his rally for Mawokota south in Mpigi on Saturday, the NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi was overwhelmed by large crowds that tolerated teargas, police and military brutality to come and listen to him.
At the Mawokota south rally at Mitala Maria, Kyagulanyi was asked by one of the area NUP leaders to respond to claims by the area incumbent MP Yusuf Nsibambi that he is the one the principal is supporting even when he is on the FDC ticket.
Nsibambi has been claiming to be the chief funder of the NUP to the extent that even the plates in which the principal eats at his home of Magere were bought by him. He has also been lying voters that even Kyagulanyi knows that he is NUP even when he is on the key symbol.
Kyagulanyi was also asked to confirm the claims that the red jacket Nsibambi wears was gifted to him by him as NUP leader.
When he got the microphone to speak, Kyagulanyi destroyed everything by telling the large crowd that Nsibambi is part of the political merchants and conmen based at Najjanankumbi who accepted Museveni’s dirty money and connived to have Dr. Kizza Besigye die in Luzira.
“How can I be the one to still trust such a man who as we all know connived with others at Najjanankumbi to accept the dictator’s money to betray Dr. Besigye? He is in Luzira for all this time because of their betrayal and they don’t even want to talk about him anymore.”
Kyagulanyi told Mpigi voters that his candidate for Mawokota south is Martin Sejjemba who is on the NUP ticket and has the umbrella as his symbol. He said there is no way he can have control over a man like Nsibambi who is on the flag of another party.
He added that those things of friendship Nsibambi keeps lying about to the voters can’t work any more at this point in time when Nsibambi joined the group at Najjanankumbi to gang up and betray Dr. Besigye.
He said there is no way he can call Nsibambi to order in case he bounces back as Mawokota south MP and continues being part of the Najjanankumbi group which chose to betray Ugandans and serve Museveni’s interests.
Muwanga Kivumbi had earlier on made the same point when he told the rally that it was unacceptable for anyone to support Kyagulanyi for president and yet vote someone else for MP yet there is a candidate of the umbrella.
On the same rally, Kyagulanyi introduced a tearful Mathias Walukagga who he said had been denominated not because he lacks qualifications but simply because Museveni is scared, has become unpopular and envies popular leaders like Walukagga.
He vowed not to rest until Walukagga becomes the new MP for Busiro east. He said Museveni feared after realizing that only Walukagga would prevent his man Abdul Kiyimba from winning that constituency.
Kyagulanyi said that as soon as he becomes president, he will cancel the victory of whoever wins and order a by-election in Busiro east so that Walukagga becomes the area MP because its clear he is the only voters want. Walukagga bowed his head to thank Kyagulanyi for promising to make him MP. Kyagulanyi the same in all constituencies were NUP candidates have been blocked by the EC and the courts from standing including in speaker Anita Among’s Bukedea district.
At the same Mpigi rallies, Fred Nyanzi spoke and said several opinion polls had been conducted by international organizations and put Kyagulanyi in the lead of 68% of the vote while Museveni has 21%.
Joel Ssenyonyi asked voters to defy Simon Byabakama and camp at the polling station after casting their vote. Muwanga spoke about corruption in the roads sector where he said Museveni’s cronies were stealing trillions of government money through cost-inflated road contracts.
He listed all the construction works which are ongoing in Mpigi and said many of them were being used by Museveni’s cronies to inflate the cost and enrich themselves.
Kyagulanyi said he was asking not just his supporters to come up and protect their vote by staying at the polling station after voting but Museveni’s supporters too. He said he knows Museveni still has a few supporters each one of whom he called upon to camp at the polling station to ensure that no one steals their man Museveni’s votes come Jan 15 2026.
