Fausta Nalubega, famously known as Bitano, has been one of the KCCA lord councillors from Makindye division. For especially the last two years, she distinguished herself as one of the effective NUP foot soldiers whose mobilisation prowess and devotion even Kyagulanyi often referred to in his public addresses while calling on others to emulate her.
She says two years ago, she was called to Kavule for a secret meeting during which she was told to prepare to become the new Mityana woman MP because Joyce Bagala had fallen out of favour. She says from that day onwards she became a darling and would directly call or access all top officials of NUP except Kyagulanyi. She says this made her an insider who got to know many secrets of the party and its top officials.
Now Bitano, who was denied the ticket in favour of Prossy Mukisa Nabossa who she says has only S4 certificate and therefore unqualified, says she regrets why she left JEEMA, her party since campus through which she first became LC3 councillor in Kampala in 2016 long before Kyagulanyi joined politics.
Bitano poured out her heart in a Friday YouTube interview with Mathias Sekanjako. She says she has realized NUP is a project of NRM and its in place to help Museveni destroy all credible politicians in Buganda.
She says its true sex continues to be weaponized in NUP and that several officials told her Nabossa had to get the ticket because she is pretty and a celebrity with a nice body and seductive bums. She adds that there are many young women and female foot soldiers who were sexually exploited with promises of party tickets which were never given to them. That many of those are now heart-broken and are considering committing suicide. That their blood will forever be on Kavule.
Bitano says those female flag seekers who top party officials and their assistants find not to be sexually attractive are made to pay a lot of money with promises of being given party tickets, which in case of many people never materialized too. She gives herself as an example and says she has recordings of assistants to party officials who would meet and sit with her in city hotels to negotiate and demand for money.
That she paid money for her own ticket and her favourites in Mityana who she wished to get the flag for councillorship, division mayors and LC3 chairpersons for sub counties. She say none of them was considered because NRM tycoon Butebi had told Kyagulanyi he doesn’t want Bitano or her supporters to have NUP tickets in Mityana, which he calls his territory.
“There is one for whom I paid 30m and they still didn’t give him the ticket simply because he was my person. They were influenced by Butebi (father to hon Francis Zzaake) who tripled every coin I would be paying.” Bitano says insiders at Kavule told her she was not going to get the card because Butebi, who is NRM, had picked interest in Nabossa and pressured Kyagulanyi to favour her.
Bitano adds she onetime paid millions to be allowed to meet Kyagulanyi directly and he assured her he wasn’t prepared to entertain any of her complaints against Butebi. “He even told me that even when he is our friend as NUP, Mr. Butebi is an NRM man on whom Kavule doesn’t have much control,” a tearful Bitano said of Kyagulanyi in her interview.
She says she also invested a lot of money, over 500m, in mobilisation to get ground support but all this was ignored by Kavule yet NUP top officials told her to go and do all that in order to weaken Bagala.
She says she felt disrespected when she was denied the ticket and none of the top officials bothered to reach out to her for guidance.
“I’m young maybe I would have waited by they never reached out to me and I was denied audience. I knew if I be patient, they will do to me what Joel Ssenyonyi, Rubongoya and Katana did to David Musiri in 2021. He accepted to leave for the flag bearer in meetings at Kamwokya yet those three originated a rumour that he was given money by Allan Sewanyana.”
Asked about her source of money, Bitano said she has schools, her NGO and salary as KCCA councillor at city hall. She says she has audio recordings of top party officials harassing her for money and she is going to release all of them if her 56m isn’t refunded. She says this was extorted from her only hours before the flag bearers list was released. She displayed text messages during the video interview showing the recipients of the money thanking her and acknowledging receipt of the same.
She called on fellow foot soldiers remaining in NUP to wake up and quit before it’s too late because the guys at Kavule aren’t about struggle but money-making while enabling Museveni’s regime.
She said she was shocked on nominations day when Mityana EC bosses put their foot on the ground not to nominate Kyagulanyi-backed Nabossa on grounds that she doesn’t have proper qualifications, only to come under pressure from state house to nominate her regardless of the inadequacies in her qualifications.
“She has up to S4 and the rest is forgery. She claimed to have a certificate equalling to S6 but never got the certificate of equivalency from UNEB and NCHE as the law requires. The EC isn’t supposed to nominate that person unless her equivalence has been satisfied. In Nabossa’s case, that was waived and my EC insiders say the pressure was too much from Mr. Above in government.”
Bitano says she rang Rovans, a PA to one of the NUP bosses alerting him that Nabossa was going to be in problems on the morning of nominations. To her surprise, Rovans’ boss rang someone in government who rang and put EC on pressure to let Nabossa pass without proper qualifications.
“This shocked and caused me to do research on Besekezi, Katana and Rubongoya and what I discovered shocked me. I now know that foot soldiers who are still in NUP are in captivity and they will be shocked the day they get the full story. Those three guys have an agenda to target and destroy Baganda inside NUP especially those who are genuine in their opposition to Museveni and his NRM.” She also claimed that another foot soldier called Munyarwanda wa Bobi has a lot of details about the Nabossa academic qualifications scandal.
She called Mathias Mpuuga’s removal the first phase of the purging of credible Baganda out of NUP and hers and others under the 2026 flag bearers’ list as second phase. “Third phase will be the final one and Namboze and Muwanga Kivumbi will be next. From what I know, I can advise them to watch their back because they are going to be next because those three are more than determined,” said Bitano who until a few weeks ago was a darling at Kavule. Party officials were using her to undermine Joyce Bagala and she never knew they would turn against her too. She is now regretting.
She also talked about a night meeting at a hotel in Mengo where the husband of Mityana south flag bearer Nalwoga was asked to pay 70m before the NUP card was removed from Fred Kintu who appeared on the first list. She says Nalwoga’s husband pleaded and was allowed to pay 50m.
She says the recording which was captured and she has from that meeting shows a big businessman from Mityana explaining that 25m was for an MP who would go to convince Kyagulanyi and that another 25m was for Kintu so that he doesn’t raise dust after removing the card from him.
Bitano also says Rubongoya extorted from her when she sent the party lawyer Jonathan Ero to go to order her to be the one to pay for the release of head mobilisation Habib Buwembo when he was arrested during mobilisation in Mityana. That she put in personal cash after being assured the ticket was hers and not Nabossa’s. “I had already spent more than 500m in such party things and there is a lot of other money which I can’t even remember because I didn’t write down everything.”
She says she now realizes that the parties which were there before NUP, for example JEEMA, were genuine unlike NUP where everything is about money or sex exploitation if you are a beautiful lady without money. She also talked about Mityana speaker Nalweyiso who she says was exploited and disregarded; she wanted the woman MP flag too.
Bitano says in 2020 she paid 7m for the ticket for lord councillor and has also been paying school fees and sustenance for 36-foot soldiers who were recommended to her by Kavule. She also said that in Mityana, Butebi will destroy NUP and this is coming very soon and he won’t lose anything because he belongs to NRM yet Kyagulanyi fears to annoy him because he has a lot of money.
Bitano says she decided to quit NUP and join common man’s party on whose ticket she is now standing for Mityana municipality MP position against Francis Zzaake. She said she confirmed NUP is a project of the regime after seeing how powerful people in state house got involved to order EC to allow Nabossa get nominated after Kavule got the information from her and contacted Mr. Above.
Nabossa is a Ugandan of Rwandese origin and to Bitano, the EC being forced to nominate her even without proper qualifications confirmed to her that leaders at Kavule were directly working with Museveni’s state house to destroy good Baganda leaders in favour of quacks like Nabossa.
She also claimed that top leaders at Kavule paid several bloggers money not to amplify the contents of Kisitu’s Baba TV interview which exposed Nabossa’s unfitness to replace Bagala.
“Why would they go that extra mile if they are not out pursuing some sinister project to ensure Buganda constituencies are represented by weaklings?” wondered Bitano who concluded by promising to release all the dirty audios she has exposing top bosses at Kavule who demand for money and sex favours from people seeking the party ticket.
