Renegade FDC national chairman Wasswa Birigwa last week suffered the wrath of foot soldiers when he spoke at a NUP political rally in Kawempe for Nalukoola and referred to Bobi Wine as Mr Kyagulanyi instead of President Kyagulanyi.

The crowd became enraged and began heckling and booing while protesting what they called lack of respect for the Principal. Birigwa was disrupted until he apologized, corrected his mistake and announced that the colosus from Magere was actually a Mr. President and not just Mr. Kyagulanyi.

The molestation Mzee Birigwa endured is a signal about the intolerance crowds are going to be directing to those campaigning in Buganda but are unwilling to use compementary language towards or about the NUP President who remains the most popular politician in the central region.

All said and done, the Katonga-based PFF is increasingly making it clear that they will be working with Bobi Wine going into 2026 elections including supporting him for president.

This Kyagulanyi compementary decision will seemingly be very easy for them to make now that sabotuers like Jack Sabiiti, Nandala Mafabi and POA are not part of Dr. Kizza Besigye’s orbit anymore. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
