Kampala journalist Kwezi Robinson of Kwezi media group is in tears after his YouTube took down all his content and his more than 30k subscribers can’t find anything online.
A tearful Kwezi says the taking down of his popular channel came after NUP secretary general Rubongoya lodged a complaint with YouTube accusing him of promoting fake news and hate speech against him.
Kwezi says he is now regretting the day he hosted guests who repeatedly claimed that Rubongoya is a serving UPDF officer, which isn’t true. Kwezi himself kept repeating the same claim and he is now regretting. He says that Rubongoya should have given him a chance to repent his sins instead of destroying his only source of livelihood.
Kwezi says he realized how powerful Rubongoya is when he approached ISO bosses who he thought were his friends only to be disregarded.
They told him there was nothing they can do for him and he now is counting on UCC boss Nyombi Thembo, his fellow Kasanda resident, to help him. He has started a new YouTube channel called Kewaza media but he fears Rubongoya might destroy that one also.
Kwezi who has been hosting anti-NUP politicians from Mpuuga’s DF all the time says he has reflected on his mistakes and he is ready to repent his sins and apologize to Kavule because he needs back his YouTube channel to be able to keep feeding his family.
Kwezi is following in the foot steps of Dean Lubowa Saava of TV10 who last month got into problems including being remanded in Luzira after taking years character-assassinating Kyagulanyi and his NUP party.
Kwezi’s setback has scared fellow YouTubers who have been thriving on attacking the Kyagulanyi brand to get content by hosting people who dislike Kavule. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
