As the state plots to re-arrest new flag bearer Martin Ssejjemba and make sure NUP remains with no candidate for Mawokota south which state house wants Suzan Nakawuki to win on a sliver platter, Medard Segona has been left out on the NUP list of flag bearers for MP positions.
Even after rejecting Segona, NUP decision makers at Kavule took some good time debating between Mathias Walukagga and businessman Emmanuel Matovu Magoola, a controversial real estate dealer who hails from Busoga.
Meanwhile, Kampala woman MP Shamim Malende has survived the political cold by landing for herself the NUP flag to retain her seat.
Outgoing KCCA Speaker Zahara Luyirika was dropped at the last minute, in what Kyagulanyi calls raba-doba style.
Zahara has been deployed in Derrick Nyeko’s Makindye east to battle DF strongman Mike Mabikke Sseninde Tutu. This leaves TuffB aka Robert Ssekidde in total misery and extreme coldness.
Outgoing Makindye division MP Ali Kasirye Nganda Mulyanyama has been given the NUP flag for Makindye west MP Seat which he earlier on abandoned for Makindye east after Nyeko pulled out following Kavule’s refusal to consider all his preferred aspirants for KCCA councillor positions.
Sources say that Kyagulanyi and other Kavule members hated Segona because of his refusal to criticize Mathias Mpuuga after he fell out with NUP over the 500m he was paid as a token of appreciation by parliament.
Muwanga Kivumbi tried to save him but Rubongoya rebuked and shut him up. The SG reminded Muwanga how he personally had been favoured and advised him to mind his business while leaving matters of NUP business to him.
Whoever is finally fronted between Magoola and Walukagga, NUP should prepare for public bashing because majority observers believed that Oweek Segona was a good legislator and still very useful to the party and the country-and Buganda kingdom too.
