Over the weekend, a messenger from NUP headquarters at Kavule met with outgoing Wakiso LC5 chairman Lwanga Bwanika along with his annointed successor Sajjalyabene Sempala Kigozi.

In the meeting, the Kavule messenger told the two men that Kyagulanyi wants them out of the LC5 and Busiro south race.

They were told the principal doesn’t want chaos and that all positions in especially Kampala and Wakiso should be decided through consensus.

In that same spirit, Bwanika was advised to leave the race for Busiro south to go on between current MP Charles Matovu and rich man Stephen Sekigozi who was recently asked to contribute 200m to get the NUP flag.

Bwanika was advised to accept that being Wakiso LC5 chairman for 15 years was enough for him and it was time to call it a day.

He was told to leave the race for the young turks and be appointed the chairman of Kyagulanyi’s Buganda taskforce for 2026.

That after elections, NUP will help him to become the chairman for Wakiso district service commission which is in charge of giving out jobs in the district.

Sajjalyabeene was told to leave the LC5 race of Wakiso for Kyagulanyi’s long-bearded friend Nasiif Najja and instead stand for the position LC3 mayor or chairperson for Makindye Sabagaabo. They both were displeased and didn’t accept these proposals by Kavule.

This means they are most likely going to end up humiliated in the first week of August when the NUP list of flag bearers is expected to be out. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
