The recruitment exercise for Probationer Police Constables (PPCs) in Kiira Region was successfully conducted at the Jinja National Agricultural Show Grounds, with only eight candidates missing out on the opportunity to join the Uganda Police Force.

This was revealed by James Mubi during a media briefing held on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Out of the 168 shortlisted candidates, 160 successfully participated in and completed all stages of the interview process. The event, praised for its organization and discipline, was led by Zula Ganyana, who commended the Kiira Region team under the leadership of Charles Nsaba for their excellent coordination and time management.

“The exercise started at 0800 hours and ended at 1800 hours without any incidents or disruptions. No cases of forged academic documents or other irregularities were reported,” said Ganyana, adding that the candidates were properly briefed and debriefed.

The recruitment exercise was attended by several dignitaries, including Jinja Resident City Commissioner, Richard Gulume, Deputy Jinja RDC, Andrew Ntange, Deputy RPC, David Katunda, Regional HR, Andrew Muzira, the three DPCs, and various local leaders. Ganyana emphasized that the recruitment process is entirely free, transparent, and based on merit.

She urged the candidates to maintain discipline and clean records within their communities, describing them as “police ambassadors.” She also cautioned female candidates to avoid early pregnancies before the final list of successful recruits is announced. Gulume reiterated the government’s commitment to creating employment opportunities, especially through institutions like the Uganda Police Force and other sister security agencies.

The Regional Police Commander (RPC) also addressed the applicants, emphasizing that a modern police officer must be knowledgeable, technologically compliant, ideologically stable, articulate, smart, and disciplined—ready to serve anywhere when duty calls. The final list of successful candidates who will proceed to the Police Training School in Kabalye, Masindi District, will be announced through the official Uganda Police Force social media platforms, local radio stations, and public notice boards at main and regional police stations across the country-URN.
