Sam Kutesa is the father of Charlotte K who is the wife of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba MK. They met in UK while students there. Kutesa’s first wife Jenniffer, who Gen Otafiire one time shot at in a bar in the late 1980s at fairway hotel, is long dead but was the sister of gen MK’s mother Janet Kataha.

Kutesa is wealthy, powerful and connected. His daughter Shartsi Musherure is the MP Mawogola north in Ssembabule where the sick and frail former AG and foreign affairs minister is campaigning to remain the NRM chairman.

Even when he has all the money in the world to the extent that he was one time rumored to have considered buying Entebbe airport, Kutesa’s vulnerability has finally been exposed.

The man who has been a smoker and heavy drinker for much of his adult life, is now suffering from throat cancer. And he has gone public about this and on Sunday told the president in a church in Ssembabule that it’s only by God’s grace that he is still alive and breathing.

Kutesa told the president he needs more prayers because he is on life long medication in Germany where he recently spent a whole six months undergoing complex medical procedures which included surgery around his throat area. Indeed he has a swelling around his neck and speaks with noticeable difficulty. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
