Bobi Wine has resolved to front his singing partner Nubian Li for the Nakawa East MP Seat currently held by Ronald Balimwezo.

Balimwezo is being pressurised by Bobi Wine to abdicate the Nakawa MP Seat and instead vie for Kampala Lord Mayorship currently held by the indomitable Erias Lukwago who the NUP top leadership knows can’t easily be defeated because of the honesty voters in Kampala see in him.

The other Bobi Wine confidante going for an MP Seat in Kampala is David Lewis Rubongoya who is being fronted for Kampala Central MP Seat come 2026. This is bad news for DP Bloc-leaning Moses Katabu who declared earlier.

MATIA BWANIKA CHAOS:

In a related development, the outgoing Wakiso District Chairman Matia Lwanga Bwanika is being pushed by the leadership inside NUP to abandon the Busiro South MP dream and instead consider Busiro North which was once represented by VP Gilbert Bukenya.

The NUP strategists at Kavule don’t see any fault in Charles Matovu, the incumbent of Busiro South against whom they aren’t prepared to sponsor any other candidate. This has made Namulanda resident Matia Lwanga Bwanika’s ambition for Busiro South very untenable and a hard one for NUP decision-makers to accommodate.

“He [Matia Lwanga Bwanika] is a senior politician who has been Wakiso LC5 Chairman since 2011 which means he knows the district well and has what it takes to win elections in any constituency in his district. That’s why we are insisting that he goes for Busiro North if he at all wants the NUP ticket. In any case he has property and therefore a presence of some sort in Busiro North. That’s the only slot we can sponsor him to carry our flag if he is interested in it at all,” a NUP insider close to the making of key decisions told us as we prepared for this story. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
