The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Deputy Secretary General, Rt Hon. Rose Namayanja-Nsereko, today held an engagement with party flagbearers from the Lango sub-region to discuss the best strategies of delivering victory in the forthcoming general elections.

During the meeting which was held at the NRM headquarters in Kampala, the delegation led by Mr. Patrick Obura, the NRM candidate for Oyam South, used the meeting to present on-the-ground experiences and outline key campaign needs.

The candidates highlighted challenges facing their constituencies and called for targeted interventions and affirmative action to consolidate party support in the region.

In her remarks, Namayanja assured the candidates that the NRM party was fully committed to backing its flagbearers with both logistical and strategic support.

“The NRM stands firmly with our candidates,” she said. “We are taking a hands-on approach to make sure your priorities reach the top of the party. Our strength comes from working together and staying focused.”

DSG Namayanja highlighted the importance of unity within the party and shared plans to bring all candidates together, avoiding splits that could help the opposition or independents.

She called upon candidates with intentions of running as independents to throw their weight behind party flagbearers.

Namayanja also said the party would soon endorse the Lango sub-region flag bearers, showing its full support for all candidates before the general campaigns.

DSG Namayanja also spoke about the successful “Madagascar Law” strategy, which helps leaders connect directly with their communities and gather resources. She mentioned the “Buganda for Museveni” campaign, which used regular planning meetings and local rallies as a clear example of how to increase visibility and show that the NRM government listens to people’s needs.

The meeting ended with a strong call for the team to work together, using the party’s networks to reach more people and share a message of development and unity.
