Nakaseke Accident Kills Three , Thirteen Others Injured ‎

At least three people have died on the spot, and 13 others have sustained injuries in head on collision accident along the Luwero-Butalangu road in Nakaseke district.‎‎‎

The incident occurred at 8 am on Tuesday at Kasana village near Kiwoko town council when a Taxi registration number UA746CH traveling from Ngoma town towards Luwero town lost control and collided head-on with a truck registration number UBJ 081B heading in the opposite direction.

‎‎Sam Twiineamazima, the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson, explains that during the accident, three passengers died on the spot and 13 others were injured.

‎‎Police identified the deceased as Joy Kusigwire, a 22-year-old resident of Kyabiguuru village, Nuwenyine Nathan, a resident of Kyabiguuru Village in Nakaseke district, all passengers in the taxi, and Martin Kigongo Martin, 43 years, a passenger in the truck.

‎‎Twiineamazima said in the accident, nine men, two women, and two children were injured, but they are yet to get their identities have yet to be established.‎‎

Twiineamazima said the injured victims were rushed to Kiwoko Hospital for treatment, whereas dead bodies were conveyed to Nakaseke Hospital for postmortem examination.‎‎

“Police from Nakaseke Traffic Department visited the scene, documented the occurrence, and inquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the accident and identify the drivers. Motorists are urged to exercise caution on this stretch of road, adhere to speed limits, and avoid reckless driving.”

The Luwero- Kiwoko- Butalangu road is under construction, but a section is complete. As a result, there is increased traffic and speed by motorists. ‎‎‎‎‎
