The top management of Agha Khan Foundation has written to the DPC of Old Kampala police station making it clear that they have never authorized NUP to use their Agha Khan grounds in Old Kampala along Gaddafy Road, to host presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi’s campaign rally for Kampala central.
As secretary general, David Lewis Rubongoya had ensured that Kyagulanyi’s last days’ rallies are held in his Kampala central constituency so that he benefits from the accompanying momentum of just hours to the polling day of January 15th.
Rubongoya had calculated that this Kyagulanyi momentum would increase his chances to beat NRM’s Minsa Kabanda and DF’s Aidah Nakuya and become the new MP for Kampala central.
Now with police using the Agha Khan top management letter to find justification to block the Gaddafy road rally and the one that had been slated for the Kamwokya slums on that same day of Monday, Rubongoya can safely be said to have died in his movie in the absence of the anticipated momentum.
