The Minister of State for Gender and Culture, Hon. Peace Mutuuzo, has updated the public on government’s progress in implementing the National Revolving Fund for Creatives, describing it as a major step toward strengthening Uganda’s creative economy.

Speaking during a press conference held at the Uganda Media Centre, Hon. Mutuuzo said the fund is designed to support musicians, enhance copyright management systems, and provide financing across nine creative sectors. She noted that the initiative is positioning the creative and cultural industries as an important driver of national development.

Hon. Mutuuzo revealed that for the Financial Year 2025/2026, government has allocated Shs 28 billion to fast-track sustainable financing for creatives, with the funding structured to respond to the evolving needs of Uganda’s growing creative industry.

She emphasized that the revolving fund is aimed at empowering artists and cultural practitioners, improving income generation, and promoting professionalism within the sector, while ensuring that creatives can fully contribute to economic growth and job creation.
