Elgon’ Newly Recruited Police Election SPCs Urged to be Disciplined Ahead of Training

Elgon Regional Police have appealed Election Special Police Constables (SPCs) to maintain decipline as they start their training.

Elgon region recruited over 4,000 Election Special Police Constables (SPCs) who are will help to guard different polling stations during the 2026 general election.

According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson, their training starts today Sunday at Nabumali High School located in Nabumali town council in Mbale district, at 7:00 am.

Taitika says any recruit who fails to maintain discipline will be disqualified.“We shall not hesitate to remove anyone who fails to measure up, even on the day of pass-out, one can still be eliminated,” he warned.

Yahaaya Were the deputy Mbale resident city commissioner for North city division say that the training is going to take only ten days.

He says the shortlisted candidates have to report at the training ground with Items like a blanket and a pair of bedsheets, mattress, preferably 2 inches thick, or a mat, Gumboots, canvas shoes, and two pairs of socks, mosquito net, sportswear, a sweater, and a pair of changing clothes,basin/bucket and a 10-litre Jerry can, plate, cup and spoon, toothbrush, toothpaste, two rolls of toilet paper, counter book (preferably 3-quire) and two Bic pens, one packet of sanitary pads for ladies, two bars of washing soap and one piece of bathing soap, a minimum of two underpants for men and four for ladies, torch, personal skin oil and enough pocket money.
