One of the NRM candidates, a Muslim, seeking to become chairperson for one of the Movement’s mobilization regions, a few days ago approached one of his more formidable wealthier opponents and asked to be paid off to leave the race in his favour.

The money, in hundreds of millions, was given to the youthful hunky candidate who pocketed it while beaming with blessedness and smiling from ear to ear but he made a U-turn and refused to quit the race and declare support for the opponent who paid him off.

However, there are indicators that the money has backfired on the Muslim candidate attached to one of the big mobilisation offices in the country. Inside his camp, supporters and campaigners have gone on rampage and refused to continue campaigning for him after learning about the hundreds of millions he extorted from his more formidable opponent yet he didn’t give anyone a penny. Even supervisors at the mobilisation office, where the bribe taker is attached are unhappy and feel disappointed that the young Muslim CEC candidate could ally with such a person who the mobilisation office officially hates and doesn’t find acceptable to ally with. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
