Days after the Mbarara DP delegates conference, Muwanga Kivumbi held a meeting with Dr Lulume Bayiga at parliament where they both work.
Kivumbi sympathized with Lulume over the mistreatment he suffered in Mbarara where his votes were stolen in favor of Mao.
He proposed that Lulume joins NUP instead of wasting time struggling to clean up DP.
Lulume said he was open to making a deal with Kavule provided that Kyagulanyi would support him to retain his Buikwe south MP seat on the independent ticket.
His other demand was that Kyagulanyi would support his people to win lower councilor positions on NUP tickets like was done for Nambooze’s people in Mukono municipality.
Muwanga Kivumbi said this was not asking for too much and told Lulume to allow him time to consult with Kyagulanyi.
In the end, Kivumbi was surprised when Kyagulanyi who personally hates Lulume rejected the proposal. He said Lulume was too old to get his support for Buikwe south MP and said he was ready to support him to become Buikwe LC5 chairman on condition that he joined NUP.
That was the end of the deal and the next thing Lulume did was to join PFF where he says he has found a lot of happiness and only regrets why he didn’t join such a transparent and respectful team of colleagues much earlier on.
