It has been proposed that the president holds a meeting with the Kabaka of Buganda ahead of his mobilisation tour of the central region.
This week Museven is beginning his PDM tours in Buganda and will be starting in Luwero triangle where he fought his NRA bush war from.
The central region is understood to be angry with Museven and his NRM in favor of Kyagulanyi and sources say that senior politicians from Buganda had advised the president to have some meeting with the king in order to isolate Kyagulanyi and his NUP, as he starts his tour of central.
Already a group of ministers and other seniors led by Kiwanuka Kiryowa are out in the community holding rallies in Buganda which they say Museven must recapture and win back in 2026.
Museven has been advised that taking photos with the Kabaka and appearing to be working with him to resolve Buganda’s outstanding grievances can help to isolate and demoralize Kyagulanyi and his campaigners in Buganda ahead of 2026.
State house sources say that the proposal is still on the table and it remains Museven’s determination to have one on one talks with Kabaka Mutebi before his Buganda tour gets underway. The photos of the meeting will then go viral to create political momentum for the NRM chairman.
