Untold NUP Story & Why Mpuuga Will Never Forgive these 2 Babes For Messing Him up Like Hell

By KT Reporter

Secrets have emerged shedding light on the circumstances under which disgraced Mpuuga came to hate these two NUP babes-Aisha Kabanda and Gorette Namuga. They are both MPs representing Butambala and Mawogola south in Sembabule.

Namuga was the first one to mess up Mpuuga by indicating to Kyagulanyi that the Ow’ekitiibwa had his own agenda and wasn’t totally loyal to him as the principal. This was as early as the year 2020. Mpuuga with Abed Bwanika had planned to be the ones to select the NUP flag bearers for greater Masaka without involving Kamwokya. Plus this is something Kyagulanyi was about to endorse thinking they were acting in good faith.

Abed and Mpuuga had told Kyagulanyi that Mercy Walukamba who heads the NUP electoral commission EMC was too busy with the whole country yet there was no time under COVID19 lockdown. The two proposed they can relieve her by handling candidate selection for the greater Masaka districts. Kyagulanyi consulted Walukamba who advised him against it.

Then Namuga, who was an ugly-looking rural gal doing odd bu-jobs in Kassijagirwa with no claim to fame as of that time, came to Kamwokya and asked to meet Kyagulanyi. He reluctantly accepted to meet her. In that meeting of two people, Namuga told Kyagulanyi about Mpuuga’s plans to build a party within a party using greater Masaka as testing ground before spreading the same to the whole of Buganda.

She told the principal that Mpuuga was busy telling people like herself to stand an independents affiliated to NUP as opposed to being on NUP ticket. Kyagulanyi rang Mpuuga on phone who confirmed to him it was important for some people to strategically run as independents to avoid alienating voters who are NRM.

He told Kyagulanyi that greater Masaka was still a stronghold for NRM and Museveni whereby independents would be easier to market than candidates who are openly opposition. Kyagulanyi asked Walukamba about this as the EC boss and she advised him against it. She told him we rather have few people winning but when we know they are ours and we can exercise control on them.

In their phone call, Kyagulanyi told Mpuuga he was surprised he was insisting on Namuga standing as an independent on grounds that Mawogola and Sembabule is full of NRM, yet Namuga had assured the principal people loved NUP a lot there and it would easier for her to win as NUP flag bearer than as an independent.

Namuga told Kyagulanyi she was shocked Mpuuga was telling him that yet they hadn’t harmonized on it as NUP leaders in Sembabule. This went a long way in creating suspicion in Kyagulanyi about Mpuuga’s intentions even though he went ahead and made him the leader of opposition.

Namuga told him Mpuuga wanted personal loyalty to himself and not the party as NUP. Even when Mpuuga became leader of opposition and had Namuga in his cabinet, the two weren’t best of allies. Namuga was uneasy to see Mpuuga being closer to people like Joyce Bagala than her. That is why she always worked with Muwanga Kivumbi to spy and keep reporting Mpuuga as head of opposition in parliament to Magere.

Some of Mpuuga’s supporters claim that Namuga hated Mpuuga because he refused to ask her for some yet she all along expected him to. Mpuuga’s supporters on social media have been dismissing Namuga as too unappetizing for their boss. Namuga has ignored them and remained loyal to Kyagulanyi and she keeps saying Mpuuga must carry his cross over the 500m he received.

Apart from Namuga, Kalangala woman MP Helen Nakimuli aka Namazzi is the other NUP babe from greater Masaka who Mpuuga can never forgive. Her supporters say that Mpuuga wanted some and she refused to share with him which is his key allies hate her.

Nakimuli had all along been a close ally to Mukasa Mbidde, Mpuuga’s rival for Nyendo-Mukungwe but she defected and strategically went to work with Mpuuga because he was the deputy president for NUP which was selling like hotcake in that 2021 elections. She had been working as a low rank staff in Kalangala local government.

Today she is archrivals with Mpuuga, something Mukasa Mbidde must be very excited about. At Kavule, she is a darling of Kyagulanyi, Rubongoya and Joel Ssenyonyi and will surely get the NUP ticket for reelection as Kalangala woman MP though she may not be able to prevail against NRM which has already mapped out Kalangala as a must recapture. Her political demise will be good news and sweet revenge for Mpuuga whose camp members feel she betrayed their man.

Finally, Aisha Kabanda is another Kavule babe who Mpuuga won’t forgive easily. She is the NUP deputy secretary general and woman MP Butambala. During the crisis meeting at Kamwokya that discussed the 500m Mpuuga received, that meeting was so hot for him. First of all, he was all alone and frightened.

No one seemed to be on his side. He never reached out to old Ssuubi allies like Medard Segona, Muwanga Kivumbi, Betty Nambooze etc. The trio was in the meeting but not on Mpuuga’s side. They sided with Kyagulanyi and his other accusers more than with him.

Accusations were read out against him and Mpuuga stammered and struggled to explain himself but he was logically unbelievable and the more he spoke, the more he made his case very bad.

In the end, he was pushed in a tight corner and forced to own up, apologize and promise to return the money and even resign as commissioner of parliament. He went back on his word and reneged on his word. He didn’t apologize and instead accused Kyagulanyi of destroying his image on social media.

Before the meeting ended, Aisha Kabanda felt humiliated on behalf of Mpuuga and asked the chairperson to break off for lunch. During that lunch break, Kabanda talked to Mpuuga one on one and advised him to just own up and find another way around the 500m scandal.

“Oweekitiibwa until this meeting, I thought you are a very intelligent man who is full of wisdom but today’s meeting as depicted you as the exact opposite but it’s not too late. When we resume just own up and salvage what remains of your reputation before it’s too late.” She told him. Sources say that Aisha Kabanda’s advice was genuine and meant to help save face but Mathias Mpuuga took it in bad faith and has never forgiven her up to this day.

Everything that has happened to Mpuuga since the Kyagulanyi fallout has played exactly the same way Aisha Kabanda predicted in their one on one chat during the lunch break that day and instead of thanking her and apologizing not having taken her advice, Mpuuga took everything personal and never talks to her up to this day.
