A group of NUP bosses who are currently abroad mounted pressure on the wife of Fred Nyanzi to prevail on her son Church Hill Ssentamu to help the party clean up the mess and misunderstanding that resulted from his participation in the public ceremony president Museveni presided over at Makerere freedom square on Tuesday.
Ssentamu had to be there because he rightly believed that this was a great way to exhibit leadership and political maturity being the newly elected guild president for Makerere university.
However, his participation was misrepresented by the kadamas and foot soldiers who like to keep deluding themselves that boycotting such presidential events and staying away from them, even when you are the guild president, amounts to good leadership.
His own father Fred Nyanzi who is abroad having travelled with Bobi Wine, Ssenyonyi Joel and other NUP officials mounted pressure too calling on his son to either resign in shame from the office of being guild president or publicly apologising.
The young man, urged on by close friends, initially felt this was unneccessary prompting Nyanzi & the group he travelled with to pressurise the mother who finally cajoled the boy to do the needful.
