Clergy Urge Faithful to Reject Divination, Embrace Trust in God

By KT Reporter
At the instigation of one of their leaders Fred Doi, Lira City Woman MP Jane Ruth Aceng agreed to extend support to boost the income generation activities being undertaken by members of Lira Catholic Diocese Cooperative Society.
The first time they met and discussed areas of possible intervention, Doi told Aceng that his members prefer a leader who supports their self-help projects rather than exciting them with small cash handouts.
It was agreed that Aceng, who is the Minister of Health and pioneer woman Mp for Lira City, supports poultry farming activities to replicate money making opportunities among members.
And a few days to Christmas, Aceng honored her pledge by delivering an incubator facility which can be used to hatch eggs leading to production of more birds so that more individual members can get their share. Each is entitled to getting a patent stock of 100 chicks from the Cooperative Society.
Valued at 6.5m, the incubator was publicly handed over to the leaders of Lira Catholic diocese who included one of the clerics; a priest. The very popular politician also handed over an additional 1.5m to facilitate purchase of eggs from local chicken in the area to enable production of more chicks.
For some reason, this Cooperative Society members prefer rearing local chicken which can be sold to buyers within Lira City and beyond. The Cooperative Society leaders promised to use Aceng’s 1.5m to buy and hatch eggs for the benefit of their members.
As Aceng delivered this joy-creating pledge for the benefit of hundreds of this Cooperative Society members, one of her political opponents was being castigated by Catholics of the newly opened St. Leo Catholic Parish whose inauguration she attended but gave them nothing yet much had been expected from her.
Individual Catholics were heard castigating Senior Presidential Advisor Okello Opio for bringing and trying to sell to them such a stingy guest of honor at the inauguration of their new Catholic Parish.
The opponent has since resorted to convening night meetings to plot the ouster of Lira City RCC Lawrence Egole saying he is the one responsible for area residents’ consistent refusal to buy into her candidature. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
