Sources say that there is now a known way regarding things Bobi Wine does to politicians he is tired of inside NUP and want to dispose them off.
One of these ways is for him to summon you for private talks and require you to abdicate your position in order to go stand for something which even himself knows you can’t win.
The matter of anyone being fronted to run against Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has become synonymous with exactly that. He deploys there someone he wants to sacrifice and destroy.
Sources say that he recently candidly told his brother Chairman Fred Nyanzi that, because he loves him, he can’t front him against the people’s Lord Mayor.
So, because he is sick and tired of her and considers her to be an easily disposable politician, Bobi Wine recently signalled the Kampala Woman MP Shamim Malende to prepare to leave her current seat and run for Lord Mayorship. She politely declined saying she was comfortable seeking reelection as Woman MP.
In asking her to go for Lord Mayorship, Bobi Wine wanted to create a soft landing for KCCA Speaker Zahara Luyulika who the PAT members don’t want to run for Allan Sewanyana’s Makindye West which they want to be taken by moneybags Faruk Ntege, who is a brother to late Seya Nasser Sebagala. They would rather have her replace Shamim Malende for Kampala Woman MP Seat.
In the alternative, they want Rubaga South’s Euginia Nassolo to run for Kampala Woman MP Seat but not Shamim Malende anymore.
For reasons we couldn’t readily establish, Bobi Wine isn’t comfortable having Mulyanyama run for Lord Mayorship either. He actually is already considering seeking 3rd term as Makindye Mayor because its clear PAT members aren’t giving him ticket for City Hall.
Instead, Nakawa East’s Ronald Balimwezo is being pushed to go for Lord Mayorship. PAT members a few days ago signaled him to prepare to take on his former ally Erias Lukwago.
Balimwezo is seemingly falling into the trap and has actually been warming up for the Seat, which has made the Principal very excited.
But the real truth is that PAT wants Balimwezo out so that his MP Seat goes to Nubian Li who is already warming up for it come 2026. In diverting him for Lord Mayorship, Bobi Wine is creating an opening for his friend and singing partner Nubian Li.
