On NBS frontline, Mapenduzi Ojara totally abandoned his friend Anita Among, yet he used to praise her saying she was the best for Uganda. He said that the 11th parliament totally lost credibility and frustrated Ugandans because it wasn’t being led properly.
He had been among the first ones to endorse Among and Mao warned that they would eat their words, which has come to pass.
Ojara said on NBS that Ugandans were right to feel frustrated, but they now have the chance to get liberated from the scandals of the 11th parliament. He said Oboth Oboth is a very good leader in whom Ugandans must have a lot of hope. He also thanked Oboth Oboth for reorganizing the business committee of parliament and for chairing meetings very well.
He said much as the COVID lockdown and the death of Jacob Oulanyah was bad at its beginning, it was still possible for the 11th parliament to do well if it had been led well.
Mapenduzi also supported the proposal by Ofwono Opondo to put pressure on Oboth Oboth to have a forensic audit to identify and expose all the financial, administrative and HR recruitment scandals of Anita Among’s time.
Ojara also supported the need to make all the findings public so that Ugandans get to know what really happened under Anita Among.
Alan Kasuja said that the 11th parliament had become a crime scene and that its image was disgraced under Anita Among.
Alan also said the last parliament was the total embarrassment to Ugandans and that Oboth Oboth must be supported by everyone to clean up and restore its image. He said media center is ready to support the clean up exercise.
Ojara joined Ofwono Opondo to praise Oboth Oboth for giving up the 23.9bn which Among had put in her office, back to facilitate work of the committees.
Ojara said ministers now attend parliament and take it seriously because they respect the new speaker than was the case before. He said even the prime minister is these days very serious with parliament which is why Robinah Nabanja on Thursday answered a total of 79 questions from MPs which was never the case before.
Ojara thanked Oboth Oboth for being clear about the need to address the credibility deficit Anita Among created and left behind. He also defended his new boss Oboth Oboth’s right to associate with PLU and be loyal to the CDF who leads the pressure group. Ojara thanked PLU for leading the way to clear away Anita Among’s scandals from parliament-URN. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
