The commandant of the Njeru-based National Defense College, Brig. Gen. Alex Olupot has commended Kenya’s cooperation in fostering security and peace across the East African region.
Olupot pledged while meeting students from the National Defense College who were on an academic tour at the National Defence College in Njeru over the weekend. Olupot said that Uganda and Kenya have been longtime allies in keeping regional stability safe for all.
He said the visit by the students from shows that Uganda and Kenya have worked together in fostering tangible peace within the East African region and beyond. “This is the reflection of the strong bond, friendship, cooperation, and security interests, which unite our two nations. Uganda and Kenya have long stood together in pursuit of peace, stability, and prosperity within our region and beyond,” he said.
He also says that the visit by the Kenyans carries substantial academic value, enabling course members to understand Uganda’s course content and teaching methodologies. Olupot added that students from both countries can share cultural experiences, which are key in preparing leaders to tackle the evolving demands of national, regional, and global relevance.
Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Yahya Abdu, who led the delegation, noted that this collaboration cements the long-existing good diplomatic relations between the two countries.
He further pledged continued collaboration and cooperation with NDC-U, especially in areas of benchmarking to promote up-to-date knowledge sharing.
