Police in Kagadi District have launched investigations into the death of Jordan Ayamba, 26, a resident of Ruteete Central in Ruteete Town Council in Kagadi District. The death occurred on Tuesday night, leaving residents in shock and demanding answers.
According to preliminary reports, Ayamba could have been drunk at the time of the incident. Witnesses claimed that he was pushed as he attempted to forcefully enter a gambling slot outlet, an altercation that may have resulted in his death.
On Wednesday morning, Ayamba’s body was discovered lying outside the betting premises in Ruteete Town Council. The machine operators declined to speak on the matter.
Tigomwe George, the Officer in Charge of Ruteete Police Station, confirmed that police have commenced investigations to establish the exact cause of Ayamba’s death. He added that the body was transported to Kagadi General Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Local leaders have also expressed concern over the incident. The LC2 Chairperson of Ruteete West Ward, Charles Tusabomwe, urged residents to strengthen neighborhood watch efforts to enhance community security.
Meanwhile, the LC3 Chairperson of Ruteete Town Council, Bamwesigye Wellen, cautioned residents against excessive drinking at night, noting that tragic incidents occur under the influence of alcohol.
Police have urged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward as investigations continue.
