Nine people who were released by the High Court in Arua have been re-arrested.

The nine suspects whose names have not been disclosed had been on remand for various capital offenses, including murder, aggravated defilement, and armed robbery, among others.

One of the suspects was remanded to Arua government prison in 2021while others were remanded in 2022 and 2023. They were arrested as soon as they moved out of the Court premises after they were set free by Justice Harriet Grace Magala.

According to sources, the Court had no option but to set the suspects free after witnesses failed to appear in court.
