The police in Albertine are investigating the circumstances under which a businessman in Hoima was killed.

David Mucunguzi, a resident of Kihemba village in Butema Parish, Buhanika sub-county, also operates a retail shop in Hoima Taxi Park. Mucunguzi reportedly went missing on July 30, 2025, when he reported for work.

On Monday, Mucunguzi, while driving his car registration Number UAN 446B, Toyota Premio, reported for work at his retail shop in Hoima taxi park but did not return home. His relatives became suspicious after waiting for him to return home in vain.

Betty Birungi, the widow, said Mucunguzi left home on Monday morning and reported for work at their retail shop in Hoima city but never returned home.

This prompted them to report the matter to the Hoima central police station, which commenced investigations.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, says the body was discovered in Buliima town council, Masindi district, on Tuesday. The body was found in his car.
