Not very long ago, Kawempe division speaker Harris Akampulira fled Kampala city and went to hide upcountry in Mbarara, while concentrating on his law course, after Kawempe mayor old man Emmanuel Sserunjogi Oweddembe instigated violence against him.

Sserunjogi, who some voters refer to as the dictator Museveni of Kawempe, feared that Akampulira was interested in his seat of mayor which has been his since 2016. Sserunjogi will fight anyone who looks at his seat and this is why fellow old man Latif Sebaggala is also in trouble of being destroyed by Sserunjogi who calls himself Oweddembe yet he is not peaceful at all.

Akampulira who is closely associated to secretary general Rubongoya was doing a good job as Kawempe speaker, which made envious old man Sserunjogi to fear him a lot. He one time incited hooligans who stormed speaker Akampulira’s office and tried to harm him except that Akampulira used Raba Doba style to escape unhurt.

Sserunjogi had even resorted to using tribalism to destroy Akampulira. His supporters would ask why a Munyankole like Akampulira can use his office as speaker to fight Sserunjogi who grew up in Kawempe. Akampulira is a very professional young man felt he was tired of fighting with an old politician who is fit to be his father.

He decided to abandon the speakership for his deputy to act and told Kyagulanyi he had had enough. He decided to concentrate on his course to become a lawyer and this forced Sserunjogi to celebrate.

With Rubongoya’s connections, Akampulira is planning to go abroad in Scotland to immediately do a master’s degree in petroleum and gas instead of wasting time fighting with old man Sserunjogi who takes Kawempe mayoral seat to be like his inheritance.
