Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) president, Eddy Kenzo, has called on members of the federation and its SACCO to remain calm and united in the face of what he describes as online campaigns aimed at creating division and doubt within the music industry.

In a statement issued through the UNMF Secretariat, Kenzo said recent propaganda circulating on social media appears to be designed to undermine the federation’s unity and credibility.

“There have been online campaigns and propaganda aimed at sowing doubt and discord about our unity. Let’s respond with clarity, calm, and confidence,” he stated.

Kenzo emphasized that this is not the first time attempts have been made to fracture the federation, noting that such efforts have historically failed when members stand together with “truth and purpose.”

He reiterated that the UNMF and its SACCO operate under strict accountability frameworks, both to members and the relevant authorities, and will continue to do so “with transparency and integrity.”

The Federation leader also addressed concerns around member confidentiality, emphasizing that privacy remains one of their core principles, especially given the sensitivity surrounding creative work and celebrity profiles.

“We are committed to protecting the privacy of every member. Personal information, creative work, and communications are handled with discretion and in line with our privacy standards,” the statement added.

Focus on Financial Empowerment and Collective Progress

Kenzo reaffirmed the federation’s long-term objectives, including unity, financial empowerment through SACCO initiatives, advocacy, and responsible stewardship within the creative industry.

He rallied members to continue operating with discipline, mutual support, and constructive engagement, noting that “our togetherness and shared mission will outlast attempts to derail us.”
