Don’t Call Me OB! I’m Not a Boy Anymore-Amanya Mushega Tells off Lousy NRM MP at Kazoora Vigil

By KT Reporter

Amanya Mushega was one time a representative in parliament where he sat as ex-officio being a minister and also a representative of his Bushenyi people.

It was in that capacity that Kashari MP Nathan Itungo, who is also the owner of Makerere Business Institute (MBI), casually reached out to him during Major John Kazoora’s vigil in Kigo near Munyonyo. He addressed him as my OB, something Mushega rejected.

Arrogant as always, Mushega raised his voice and loudly demanded to know when Itungo ever qualified to be an OB to such an illustrious son of Uganda.

Mushega made it clear that he was too senior and organized to be an OB to a lousy politician like Itungo who he had even never forgiven for the political humiliation he subjected to his good friend Major Kazoora in Kashari as they competed for the MP Seat in 2021.

Itungo was an NRM-leaning independent and Kazoora was an independent too. He had stood in Mbarara Municipality in 2011 and 2016 only to be defeated by Medard Bitekyerezo and Micheal Tumusiime respectively.

“You man this is my last warning to you. Never refer to me as OB because I’m an adult, a senior citizen and not a boy anymore. Mind your business by concentrating on what brought you to John Kazoora’s vigil. Leave me alone I’m not your level,” Mushega exploded making Itungo regret his familiarity. And that is Mushega who is always prepared to tell off anyone no matter who they are.

One time president Museveni demeaned him for being in what he called a little party called FDC and Mushega furiously responded by telling Museveni he wasn’t missing the National Resistance Movemeny anymore because its now full of fortune-hunters like Obote’s Kampala DC James Nsaba Buturo whose hands he said were dripping with innocent blood.

Some of the mourners at Kazoora’s vigil liked the decisiveness with which Mushega put Itungo down in his place. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
